ABOUT US

Our mission is to provide our dancers with the utmost in technical training in a safe and positive educational environment. We believe wholeheartedly in co-raising outstanding human beings above all else—dance skills are life skills!
We are confident that once you join our dance family, your life will be transformed in the greatest of ways!
Mr. Kurtis
Kurtis Aragon is the proud owner and artistic director of Altitude Performing Arts, established January 17, 2022. Although he dabbled in dance in high school, Aragon began his formal training at CU Boulder, where he pursued his BFA in Dance on full academic scholarship. Since then, he has owned KINspire—a pre-professional dance academy in his hometown Trinidad, CO with a second location in Pueblo, CO. He has also worked closely with the competition teams at Synergy Dance Academy, Sarah Shaw Dance Studio, Millennium, Barbara Ellis Studio of Dance and continues to partner with R&R Center of the Performing Arts and Just for Kix Windsor. He also is a judge for Best of the Best, an up and coming dance competition unlike any other.
Kurtis explored a career as a professional dancer with highlights including his many roles with Centennial State Ballet (formerly Longmont Dance Theatre). Over several seasons, he had the honor of playing Spanish (Chocolate), Snow King Understudy and Arabian (Coffee) in the Nutcracker as well as Cain in Cain & Abel. His favorite experience by far was performing alongside Sascha Radetsky and Stella Abrerra Radetsky in the Nutcracker. He recently reconnected with his idol and mentor Sascha at NYCDA nationals 2024. Aragon also auditioned for SYTYCD twice. Although he made it very far in the process and was briefly featured on Fox for his Denver audition, he didn’t make it to the Las Vegas round, but learned so very much in the process.
Kurtis has trained and become friends with some of the industry’s most renowned accredited teachers and choreographers. Having had such amazing teachers along his journey, Aragon fell in love with the educational and choreographic aspects of dance. Being a firm believer that the best students become the greatest masters, he has dedicated his life to dance—endlessly studying, learning and growing his self, so that he can pass his knowledge and wisdom on to his pupils. His greatest passion is coaching dancers to become elite competitors. Throughout his career, Aragon has had several dancers who have received regional & national accolades—many of them now or soon-to-be working dancers. Whether or not his dancers choose to pursue dance as their lifelong passion, Kurtis’s greatest joy is helping his students to become the best versions of themselves, both on and off the dance floor.

MISS VALERIE
INSTRUCTOR + LITTLES WIZARD
I was born and raised in Manhattan, KS. I began dance lessons with Bates Dance Studios where my love for performing arts was fostered. I started getting involved in community theatre and by middle school, I dropped everything and began dancing competitively. I began attending the University of Central Missouri where I studied Child and Family Development and Dance. I found myself involved in several theatre productions as both a cast member and choreographer and rediscovered my love for musical theatre. While in school, I began working at Center Stage Academy as an assistant for the fine arts preschool program as well as a variety of dance classes in the evenings. I graduated in the Fall of 2020 and since then have lived in Colorado, Florida, and Kansas City. In October of 2024, I moved to Breckenridge and began working as a director of the childcare center for Vail Resort employees on the mountain. I began teaching at Altitude Performing Arts in September of 2025 after several years of missing my love for dance and teaching. I am excited and grateful to share my passion for teaching and dance once again!

ALTITUDE PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY
Our Altitude Performing Arts Company (APAC) training program is designed for dancers who want to take their passion, talent and work ethic to the next level. With character development at the forefront of APAC’s mission, this elite team of artists and athletes alike is responsible for creating the culture of APA. Students who are selected to be members of APAC are held to a higher level of accountability, self-discipline, tenacity and time management, as these qualities are integral for overall success in both our program, and the world-at-large.
